Why visit Jaisalmer?

Jaisalmer is a beautiful city drowned in the yellow stone architecture also known as the Golden CIty. The town stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone and on the top part lies the ancient Jaisalmer Fort. This fort contains a royal palace and several beautiful Jain temples. Many of the houses and temples of both the fort and of the town below are built of finely sculptured sandstone. The town lies in the heart of the Thar Desert (the Great Indian Desert) making it so charming that it becomes almost worth visiting it. The feel of the dunes and the Golden city makes your trip worth it.
